Directions to Waiuta Retreat Holiday House.

Arriving at Kingfisher Bay from the Riverheads barge you drive onto the jetty and continue straight at the end of the jetty to the roundabout. Turn left up the hill on James Cook drive, turn right into Kingfisher Heights Drive (do not continue on the road down) and Waiuta Retreat is the last house on the right.


Can I use the Resort Facilities?

Yes, our guests are welcome to access the bars, restaurants, pools, activities and island tours.


Do I have to bring linen?

No. Waiuta Retreat supply all bed linen and bath towels. Beds are made up for your arrival so you can put you bags in the door and relax. We do have a portacot for which you will have to bring your own linen.

Is the parking close to the house?

Yes. Parking is located adjacent to the house so you will not need to carry your luggage and supplies down long paths.


How much car parking is there?

Waiuta Retreat is on a level block with parking for up to 8 vehicles, which includes one garage park and two undercover parking spaces.

Are there BBQ facilities?

Yes. We have a large 6 burner, flat plate bbq on our patio where you can also enjoy alfresco dining.

Is there lots of refrigerator space?

Yes. Waiuta Retreat has two family size refrigerators and bar fridge.

Do I have to bring my own beach towel?

Yes, you will need to bring your own beach towels. Waiuta Retreat does not provide beach towels.

Waiuta Retreat can supply towels for use at the swimming pool for and additional fee of $25 which covers the addition cleaning costs. You can add this item at checkout when making your booking.

Can I hire a 4wd?

Waiuta Retreat do not hire 4WD vehicles however we recommend www.fraserdingo4wdhire.com.au located near the Hervey Bay airport.

Can I wash under my car and re-inflate my car tyres?

You can inflate your tyres and wash under your vehicle at facilities adjacent Kingfisher Bay Resort’s general store. Tokens for the wash are available for purchase in the store.

Are there any dingoes?

Waiuta Retreat is located within the Kingfisher Bay Resort precinct which is surrounded by an electrified dingo fence to keep the dingoes out.

When touring the island you may encounter a dingo and you should follow national parks guidelines be dingo safe.
